How to use this tool

  1. Enter your average weekday screen time in hours.
  2. Enter your average weekend screen time in hours.
  3. See your weekly total, daily average, and yearly equivalent.

Track how many hours per week you spend on screens and put it in perspective with an annual figure.

Formula

Weekly total = (weekday_hours × 5) + (weekend_hours × 2)

Daily average = weekly_total ÷ 7

Yearly equivalent days = (weekly_total × 52) ÷ 24

How it works

This calculator totals screen time across a full seven-day week by treating weekdays and weekend days separately, then derives a daily average and an annualised figure in days. The yearly figure converts total screen hours per year into equivalent 24-hour days, giving an intuitive sense of scale. The calculation assumes the same weekday and weekend patterns repeat every week for 52 weeks.

Worked example

Worked example

  1. Weekday screen time = 6 h/day, Weekend screen time = 8 h/day
  2. Weekly total = (6 × 5) + (8 × 2) = 30 + 16 = 46 h
  3. Daily average = 46 ÷ 7 ≈ 6.57 h/day
  4. Yearly days = (46 × 52) ÷ 24 = 2392 ÷ 24 ≈ 99.67 days

Weekly total: 46.0 h | Daily average: 6.57 h/day | Yearly equivalent: 99.67 days
