Turn your webcam into a mirror with flip and live CSS filter options (grayscale, sepia, blur, and more). Runs entirely in your browser.
How it works
The Webcam Mirror streams your camera feed in real time and horizontally flips the video so it behaves like a physical mirror, where left and right are reversed. This is the natural orientation most people expect when checking their appearance on camera.
In addition to the flip, you can apply live CSS filters including grayscale, sepia tone, blur, brightness adjustment, and contrast. These are applied as CSS filter properties on the video element, so they update instantly with no processing delay.
The tool is useful for checking your appearance before a video call, adjusting your lighting setup, or simply using your laptop as a compact mirror. No image or video is captured or uploaded unless you use the separate Photo Booth tool.
Worked example
Check your appearance before a video call
- Open the tool and allow camera access.
- The live mirrored feed appears immediately.
- Enable the Grayscale filter to see how you will look in low-color lighting conditions.
- Adjust your position or lighting until you are satisfied, then close the tab.
A real-time mirrored preview of your camera feed confirming your appearance before joining a meeting.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting text on clothing or in the background to be readable -- mirroring reverses all text.
- Leaving the browser tab open with camera access after you are done -- close the tab to release the camera.
- Expecting CSS filters applied here to carry over to saved photos -- the filters are display-only and do not affect any captured images.

Frequently asked questions
