Stack Tower
Stack sliding blocks as high as you can! Precision timing earns perfect combos.
How to play
- Watch the colored block slide back and forth above the tower.
- Press Space, click, or tap DROP at the right moment to land it.
- Only the overlapping section survives — the block gets smaller each miss.
- A near-perfect drop is labelled 'Perfect' and keeps the full width.
- The slider speeds up as the tower grows — test your reflexes!
Tap, click, or press Space to drop the sliding block. Land it on the block below — the overlapping part stays! Miss = game over.
How it works
Stack Tower challenges you to build the tallest possible tower by stacking sliding blocks on top of one another. A block slides automatically from side to side at the top of the current stack; tapping or clicking cuts the block to match only the overlapping portion with the block below.
Any part of the block that hangs over the edge falls away and is lost. If you time your tap perfectly, the block lands flush (a 'perfect') and the block stays full size. Perfect placements can even grow the block slightly in some versions. If the remaining block becomes too narrow, the game ends.
Stack Tower is an excellent tool for training timing and focus under pressure, and it scales in difficulty naturally as the tower grows and the blocks narrow.
Worked example
Achieving a perfect stack
- Watch the sliding block and focus on the point at which it aligns with the block below.
- Click or tap at the exact moment the overlap is complete.
- Observe the 'Perfect!' indicator -- the block keeps its full width.
- Continue with the next block, noting that a perfect streak often speeds up the slider slightly.
- Aim for consecutive perfects to maximise tower height.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Tapping too early before the block has reached the overlap point, leaving a thin sliver.
- Tensing up and guessing on fast slides rather than tracking the block's rhythm.
- Trying to compensate for a narrow block by being extra cautious -- steady consistent timing is more reliable than overthinking.
Key terms
- Perfect
- A tap that lands the block exactly flush with the one below, preserving its full width.
- Overhang
- The portion of the sliding block that extends past the edge of the previous block; this portion is cut off.
- Slider speed
- The pace at which the block moves back and forth; typically increases as the tower gets taller.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a 'Perfect'?
- If you drop within 2 pixels of a perfect alignment you get a Perfect bonus and the block doesn't shrink.
- Does it get harder?
- Yes — the slider speeds up as your stack grows taller.
